WHO IS LION MAN?

Lion Man, also known as the Lion, is considered to be one of the first Black superheroes in history. His background is shrouded in mystery, and his real name is unknown. What is known, however, is that he is an American born scientist, and member of the Zulu tribe. He, along with his sidekick Bubba, is tasked with guarding the “Magic Mountain” of Africa’s Gold Coast, protecting its massive supply of Uranium from villains like Dr. Blut Sangro and Brosser the Beachcomber who aim to use the element to generate tools of war. Lion Man possesses peak agility, stamina, and strength, as well as a high intellect, specializing in physics, biology, and engineering.

WHO IS STATIC?

Virgil Ovid Hawkins was a typical teenager in the city of Dakota. Caught in the middle of a conflict with rivals, he was exposed to a chemical agent known as “Quantum Juice” via specialized tear gas unleashed by the police. This mass exposure killed and mutated many, and was known as the Big Bang. Virgil received an incredible range of electromagnetic powers including the ability to project, absorb, and manipulate raw electrical energy. He flies through the air up to speeds of 200 mph on a steel disk, and can manipulate objects at a massive scale through magnetism. He also possesses high charisma and a capable scientific mind, figuring out ways to apply his powers even beyond the scale of heroes such as Black Lightning.

WHO IS VIXEN?

Mari Jiwe McCabe was born in the nation of Zambesi. She was raised by her father, Reverend Jiwe, after the tragic loss of her mother at a young age. Jiwe was in possession of the Tantu Totem, an artifact created by Anansi the Spider. When Jiwe was killed by his brother, Maksai, Mari fled to America. Here, she began her career as a successful fashion model in New York City. Using her newfound fame and fortune, she traveled the world and soon returned to her birthplace to reclaim the Totem from Maksai. She has the power to channel the various abilities of animals she’s familiar with, bolstering her strength, speed, flight, senses, and agility. She is additionally an expert hand-to-hand combatant and capable strategic mind.

WHO IS BROTHER VOODOO?

Dr. Jericho Drumm was raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti with his twin brother, Daniel. Jericho decided to study psychology in New York City and earn his PhD, while Daniel remained in Haiti to study magic, becoming the Houngan Supreme. Jericho returned to Haiti after 12 years to aid his brother, who would ultimately be killed by the demon Damballah. Jericho learned magic from Daniel’s mentor, Papa Jambo, and surpassed the magical skill of his brother. Now known as Brother Voodoo, he possesses a wide range of practical skills and magical abilities derived from his advanced education and his connection to the Loa, and can further boost his abilities with the aid of Daniel’s spirit, making him powerful enough to be bestowed the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

WHO IS STORM?

Ororo Munroe was born to a Kenyan Princess and an Black American photojournalist. By birth, she is the rightful heir to one of the oldest kingdoms on Earth. Raised in both Harlem, New York City and Cairo, Egypt, she developed multiple skills in hand-to-hand combat and thievery before discovering her Mutant powers. As an Omega-Level mutant, she can psionically manipulate the weather at a massive scale within terrestrial and extraterrestrial ecosystems. There is not a meteorological event she cannot create or control, and can even manipulate electromagnetic waves. The scale of her power is so great that she is frequently recognized as a true goddess. A capable leader, Storm is one of the most important and powerful figures in X-Men and Marvel history.
