In a fractured post-America, where the former United States is now divided into five nation-states, a timid 15-year-old Black boy named Clayton Moore, clings to his belief in non-violence. But after a brutal racial massacre that claims his family in Detroit and devastates Black communities around the nations, his buried rage awakens something ancient and monstrous. Now in war-torn Detroit, part of the 2nd nation, he and his new friends, a Black trans girl warrior and an Afro-Palestinian revolutionary, must navigate a ruthless world where survival may demand the very violence he fears. Yet, the creature that answered his call may be more than just a terrifying monster—it could be the key to his survival and the voice of something far greater.
